It’s kind of tough to find a starting point, but I’ll try! Rewind about 10 years, and you’ll find Dustin and Rachel in high school . . . and me too! We all went to High School together (including a large number of the wedding party). Dustin even took me to prom our junior year . . . BUT, I technically took Rachel to prom senior year, when I convinced her and 5 of our other girlfriends to go stag in my ’66 Galaxie.
Memories!!
So, you can imagine that this wedding was A LOT of fun for me. It’s a little bit easier to take photos of people you already know! Dustin (aka DRut) and Rachel were hitched in Lincoln, Nebraska at Messiah Lutheran Church on November 22nd. I must give a HUGE THANK YOU to Ben Ramos and Laura Menard, both photographers from Omaha, who stuck out the long day with me, assisting me and shooting as well. I’ll do a little narrating as we go:
Getting ready at the salon:

Linda is such a goofball!

Not only did Dustin and Rachel see each other before the ceremony, they invited the entire wedding party along for a limo ride around Lincoln. THIS WAS SUCH A COOL IDEA! We had plenty of time to just relax and play and take photos at locations like the state capital, as well as Memorial Stadium (for the non-Husker fans, that’s the 3rd largest town in the state on game days).

After our tour of Lincoln, we had a little “down-time” at the church. And of course, more photos of just the bride and groom.

Formal photos don’t always have to be formal. I love you guys! Dustin, dear, I haven’t seen that face since school! You dork!

Aha, and then the reception.

The entire wedding party choreographed a routine to a medly of reception favorites, such as “Thriller”, “The Macarena”, “Bye Bye Bye” (N’Sync), and a bunch of others that I can’t remember because I was laughing so hard!

Woo girls . . .

Dustin’s Uncle’s band provide live music at the reception . . . live kareoke! Dustin only had one special request, that they learn “Ice Ice Baby” to start the party.
“All Right, Stop . . .”

Hattie had too much to drink.

Oh Michael. I love you! He survived a roadside bomb while serving in Iraq. The other 2 soldiers in his Hummer weren’t so lucky. Read Michael’s story by clicking here. They couldn’t break his spirit!

And holy cow! Nic caught the garter . . . run ladies, run!

This fine rear belongs to Clint, who’s responsible for the photo of Jill and I in the previous blog.

Congratulations you two!
