If you go back on the dixie pixel blog, in the last 6 posts, including this one, it’s at least EVERYONE’S 2nd time on the blog.  I LOVE repeat customers (and that includes the weddings, both Whitney and Lauren debuted on the blog as bridesmaids).  But, I do believe that the Sheths have the record.  This is our 4th session together, and it just keeps getting better and better.  Priti likes things a little traditional, and requests studio shots.  I brought my studio to them and set up in their living room.  And, I’ll only do it for Priti :)   I’ve stopped offering it, because, well, it’s a pain in the butt, and I find it limiting, but I like Priti and Milan, so they get a little preferred treatment  (anyone who hires me 4 times will).  After we finished up the “studio” session, we headed to a local trail for a green setting.  And of course, as soon as I sat Riya down and began taking her photos, Meera pooped and it began to rain!   But we waited it out and got some beautiful light and some beautiful portraits of my beautiful girls!  We ended with a quick romp through Cedar Hill Park to finish the session.  Childhood is so fleeting.

I’m becoming slightly obsessed with the weather.  I know I comment on it in every post, but I can’t help it.  So here I go again . . . It called for 80% chance of rain on Nick and Lauren’s wedding day.  They totally lucked out when it was a beautiful, sunny 80 degrees instead!  They were married at Farragut Christian Church, and chose to have their reception at (my fave) Calhoun’s on the River.  Yummy.  I had ribs for breakfast the next morning, thanks guys :)   Nick and Lauren chose to see each other before the ceremony to get the photos out of the way.  The sun came out, and it was just beautiful.  Lauren initially didn’t want to wear a veil, but she was convinced into wearing the longest one available.  I’m so glad she did.  I love photographing brides in their veils.  It didn’t take long for the party to get going, and keep going.  Everyone was on the dance floor cutting a rug.  I hope you guys like your preview.  I’m so happy I got to be there with you!

cole-7361Litte Cole is growing up fast!  He made his debut on the dixie pixel blog last year when he was just a few weeks old.  A year can go by and seem like a month with kids, which is why photos are so important!  And yes, Cole was a victim of the nasty May rainstorms.  His birthday party AND portrait session had to be postponed.  Luckily, his momma, Lindsey, brought him to me in Oak Ridge during the week and we were blessed with beautiful weather for a quick portrait session in Jackson Square.  As soon as daddy was finished at work, he showed up just in time to get Cole airborne.  It was so easy to take his photos, all he does is smile!  Happy Birthday little man!

The month of May is going to drive me insane!  What is up with the rain??  Jimmy & Whitney planned for a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Brother’s Cove in Townsend.  During the drive up the mountain, it was pouring down rain, and the forecast called for it all day.  But as luck would have it, as soon as I pulled onto the property at Brother’s Cove, the wedding Gods smiled upon me, and clouds parted and the sun came out.  My butterflies were gone and I was ready to photograph this GOR-GEOUS wedding.  Jimmy and Whitney are so wonderfully in love, and the romance is just oozing from their photos.  It’s crazy how things just always seem to work out . . . When I finished up their portraits after the ceremony, we entered the reception and began the meal.  As I finished photographing the details, sure enough, it was pouring rain again.  Timing is everything . . . right? We kept the party going and there was some crazy dancing and good times had by all.  I am not very fond of this new tradition of the guy who catches the garter having to put it on the girl who catches the bouquet, but this one was special.  Whitney’s flower girl didn’t catch the bouquet, but she plopped herself right in front of the gentleman who caught the garter and just looked at him with her big doe eyes . . . and exposed her leg for him to place the garter.  Adorable.

Referrals are golden, and here’s why:  I first met Whitney when she was a bridesmaid at Matt and Betsy’s wedding last March.  Betsy was a bridesmaid in Chris and Amanda’s wedding last in October of 2007.  Betsy also gave me Matt and Juli last August!  And now, Amanda’s little sister,  Amber, is getting married in 2010, and I’ll be shooting her wedding too! God love all you Sevierville girls, they sure make ‘em purty up there :)   Hurry up boys, they’re all getting married off!

a portrait of me.

taraupAs taken by my darling 4 year old son, Boru.  I HATE having my picture taken, but I LOVE this photo.  I had a few frames left after Jimmy & Whitney’s wedding, so I gave the Holga to Boru.  He’s amazing, isn’t he?
