Nebraska: The Dey Family

It’s Coach Dey and her family! Judy was my softball coach on and off ever since I was 5 years old, until I was 18. She coached our little league team, took the State Title in 1995 (represent!), and then was head coach at our high school. And now, she’s retired, and sitting pretty in the Nebraska Softball Hall of Fame (how can I not brag you up, coach?) So, when I was asked to hang out with the Dey family for some VERY OVERDUE family portraits, I couldn’t say no! I went to Dey Acres on Thanksgiving morning (yes, I did) for their portraits. Steph and Jim were in town with their three kids from Oklahoma City, and this was our only chance. It was FREEZING, and was a little bit too cold for outdoor portraits. That’s when Steve suggested a beautiful spot . . . the old Opera House. I am in love with this space . . . if it were any other day, I would have asked for the keys and spent all day there. I hope they never ever tear it down. Behind Steve and Judy’s portrait, there are signatures on the wallpaper, signed in 1895! Once it warmed up, we went back to the house and took some quick photos outside. You guys were great–thanks for having me over!!
